I believe sometimes packages ask for silly things so just in case clarification is need the country is Namibia and the city is Rundu.

I would love love love anything Gluten Free! I've only found one place where I can do my gluten free shopping in the whole country and its at least 6 hrs away from my site. A few goodies I like that I haven't been able to find here are:

Larabars
Kind Bars
Lime Juice
Hot teas
Red or Green chile anything
Crushed red pepper
Hot popcorn, cheetos, fritos (I'm not suppose to eat dairy but I love cheetos way too much)
Emergen-C
Gin-Gins
Dried cranberries
Gluten Free crackers, flours, soups, pancake mix.... gluten free anything really
Magazines so I can collage. (Hi-Fructose, Juxtapoz, and National Geographic are my favorite. Collaging helps me from losing my mind. If you send me a magazine I'll make you a postcard *bribe bribe*)

Any type of little prizes, school supplies or goodies that I can use for my class to help motivate learners (students) would be great!!! Gently used books, toys (example: toy cars, balls, nail polish, book marks, fun pencils, fun shaped erasers, dolls, dollar store stuff), learning tools,... anything would be awesome! I will also be an Arts teacher on top of English teaching so extra art supplies would rock my socks!

******TEACHER FRIENDS!!!!!!*********
I will be teaching English and would love to be able to have my learners have "pen pals" either via physical writing or email. If anyone would be interested please leave a comment below so we can get something set up! I need at least 100 students from the states to pair up with one of my learners here.

Also, from what I've found out flat rate shipping is the most affordable way to go! Mail takes about 4 -6 weeks to get to me.

  1. Jamie - glad to see that you're enjoying your experience abroad. Thank you so much for the work you're doing! I promise to visit your blog often and to write (not sure how frequently). I'm also going to share your blog with my sister and her kids.

I can hardly wait to learn and hear more about how this labor of love is impacting you and the way you see and interact with the world around you.

From my limited travels abroad, none of which were as meaningful as yours is, I know how difficult it can be to return to the US and our communities. You'll be forever changed and your perspective greatly enhanced.

Just in case you don't remember who I am, I'm your mom's cousin who works with her at MVD ~ Alicia
